As the Data Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading data infrastructure projects, mentoring team members, and building robust data pipelines.
What your day-to-day will look like:
You will own and manage the creation and maintenance of our DWH, as well as other real-time solutions. Most of your work will be with Product and Marketing analysts and Data Scientists, to understand business requirements and translate them into data pipelines and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the data engineering team, including recruiting, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and efficient data pipelines and architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data science, analytics, product, marketing, engineering) to ensure seamless data flow and integration across systems.
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of data infrastructure and processes.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in data engineering, including code quality, testing, documentation, and data governance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data engineering and big data technologies to drive innovation within the team.
- Align data engineering initiatives with business goals and ensure they provide measurable value.
Requirements:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable data engineering solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on B2C, e-commerce, or related industries.
- Strong communication skills generally, and in English specifically, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience leading and managing data engineering teams.
- Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and big data technologies.
- Solid working knowledge of BigQuery and ETL processes.
